3. OSCAR & Holidays

3. OSCAR & Holidays

A daily after school programmes for School Years 5-9, plus Holiday Programme and Breakaway. These are MSD approved, OSCAR affiliated and we are contracted to the Ministry of Social Development.

We take young people on overnight camps and weekends away throughout the year, such as Amped Camp, Eastercamp and the Surge Summer Camp.

5. One-on-One

Our youth counsellors spend 1-on-1 time with referred young people who need that bit of extra support through formal counselling sessions. Our youth workers also spend 1on-1 time with youth who are in our mentoring programme. We also partner and recruit for Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programme.

Mana Ake project supports children in schools years 1-8 who are experiencing ongoing concerns that impact their wellbeing including anxiety, parental separation, grief and loss or managing emotion.

We support local big community events and work with other groups on events like “I Love Brighton” and School Fairs. We organise an annual Family Fun Night on the 31st October yearly as a safe and fun alternative to trick or treating and run joint events with other youth agencies such as annual EPIC Dance Party and an EPIC Skate Disco.

9. Amplify School of Music

If you’re into Music, keen to learn an instrument or ready to join a Rock band – then Amplify Music School is the place for you; we have tutors who teach guitar, piano, drums and vocals!

10. Internships and Volunteering

10. Internships and Volunteering

Through tertiary providers we provide internship opportunities to intern for people who require experience for their courses; we also provide the opportunity to work at YAT as a youth work intern through providers such as Praxis and Laidlaw.

We provide the opportunity for people to volunteer at our clubs and events on a non-monetary basis.
