SENIOR OSCAR – NEW

A new decade begins and our Senior Oscar is expanding, due to requests, to also pick up students from Chisnallwood Intermediate.  If you’re looking for after school care, with a variety of activities, in a nurturing environment and without the little ones, then check out our Senior’s Only OSCAR – just for Years 5 – 8!

At $18 a day (or $17 for two or more sibling), including a van pick up from one of the 5 local schools:

  • South New Brighton
  • Rawhiti Primary
  • New Brighton Catholic
  • Nova Montessori
  • Chisneallwood Intermediate

We are MSD approved so there’s a good chance you may qualify for funding to subsidise the cost of OSCAR too. Fill in a few forms at the beginning of the year, and after that it’s easy! Check out what you could receive at:

Christmas Newsletter

Dear Friends,

When you next get a 3 minute coffee break, please read our Christmas Newsletter attached to find out about a new partnership we’ve started that you can easily get involved in and also how much cake we ate at our 30th Birthday celebrations (or just look at the photos!)

Our offices will be closed from midday on 24th Dec until Thursday 16th January, before we kick start 2 weeks of holiday programmes.

Breakaway for Teens – FREE

December Breakaway is now LIVE and looks amazing!!! It’s just for High Schoolers, and runs from 18th – 20th December and is FREE!

There is no cost to attend Breakaway, although you must bring your own lunch and any spending money.  All programs start and finish at the Youth Alive Trust offices, there are only 36 places and you must book for and attend all 3 days.  All registrations must be done online:

Only 48 days until 2020! Crazy!!  Here’s some updates for this month:

  1. Summer Holiday Programmes

Bookings for January Holiday Programmes for Years 1 – 9 are now LIVE.  Please book early to avoid disappointment, as they always book out!  All bookings done online at AimyPlus.  WINZ subsidies available. Programmes plans are on our website.

  1. TEEN Christmas Breakaway

Our FREE Teen Breakaway programme runs from 18th – 20th December.  Bookings will go LIVE on AimyPlus at 4:00 pm on Friday 22nd November. Limited spaces so get in quick!

  1. Babysitting Training – Wednesday 18th December

Whether you’re already babysitting the neighbours kids or your younger siblings or want some credibility when looking for a babysitting job – this day is for you!  Course covers expectations of a babysitter, the child and family, safety, play and basic first aid by a trained Plunket facilitator. Costs $30. Hosted by Youth Alive Trust in New Brighton.  Register now via our website or visit the facebook event.

  1. 4.  YAT Clothing – Christmas Gifts?

If you’re looking for a unique gift for your child for Christmas, then grab any piece of clothing, and get a YAT design printed on it!  Hoodie? T-shirt? Hat? Grab an order form at reception or Click here for possible designs.

  1. 5. Van Fundraising

We have now raised over $11,500 from 30th Birthday Gifts towards our much needed replacement van!!!  Thank you very much to all those who contributed!  If anyone else would like to give a Birthday Gift, online donations can be made into: ANZ Bank Account – Youth Alive Trust: 117892-0066444-00 or eftpos donations at reception.  If you do, please email us your details so we can send you a receipt and you can claim one third back!

  1. 6. NEW UpstreamNZ Partnership

Youth Alive Trust has a new fundraising scheme, where YAT receives donations when people use approved businesses for their everyday purchases!  This VIDEO explains how it works.

  • E.g.: If you switch your electricity to YES Power (Canterbury based, and can beat most other rates) then YAT receives an average of $100 per year, at no extra cost to you! (ask them for a quote HERE!),
  • E.g.: If you need you heat pump cleaned, and you use an Upstream approved business, then YAT receives a percentage of that cost, e.g.: 15%

Other services and products include travel, Real Estate, Home Loans, Coffee, Solar Energy, Bouncy Castles, Electrician, Painter & Plasterer, Photographers, Builders, Bins, Carpet, Insurance and more!!!

Family Fun Night 2019

Only one week till Family Fun Night at Grace Vineyard Beach Campus, 111 Seaview Road from 5:00pm – 7:30pm. Drop in anytime! We have plenty of dinner options this year with something for everyone. From traditional BBQ to Japanese cuisine with Mobile OSAKA-YA, Green Bear Coffee NZ, the best waffles ever with Pip In Pyjamas and world famous The Burger Joint. October Updates…

Dear YAT Family,

Term 4 has started and there are only 62 days until Christmas!  Here’s some updates for this month:

  1. Summer Holiday Programmes

We can now confirm that our January Holiday Programmes for Years 1 – 9 will be in the final two weeks of January, as most schools don’t start until February.  Bookings will go LIVE at 4:00 pm on Friday 15th November.

20th – 24th January – Holiday Programme Week 1

27th – 31st January – Holiday Programme Week 2

There is no Breakaway in January, but there is a Breakaway for TEENAGERS ONLY from 18th – 20th December.  Bookings will go LIVE at 4:00 pm on Friday 22nd November.

  1. 2. YAT 30th Birthday Celebrations!!!!!

We’ve just finished a big week of 30th birthday celebrations – we had a lot of cake at 10 Club Parties, a Friends of YAT BBQ, Celebration church services and our UpstreamNZ launch.   1. Family Fun Night – Thursday 31st October

Everyone is welcome to the annual Family Fun Night from 5:00pm – 7:30pm @ Grace Vineyard Beach Campus.  For only a gold coin donation, join in a large variety of carnival games, bouncy castles, arts & crafts, games, food (to purchase) and live bands.  We encourage ‘non-spooky’ dress-up’s because it’s a safe & fun alternative to Trick or Treating. There will be no Boys or Girls Club that night. More information at this Facebook Event.

  1. November Parent Seminars

We can really recommend upcoming seminars for Parents, ran by Doors of Hope Counselling Ltd, in New Brighton.  The facilitator, Sandy Hitchens, already works in 3 of our local schools and is delivering both daytime and evening options on Tuesdays in November. The 5 topics are: 1) Understanding Anxiety, 2) Understanding Aggression, 3) Understand Children’s Emotions, 4) The Power of Connection, 5) Understanding Discipline.  Just $50 for the series of $15 per session.  Understand the tools that can help you do the toughest job in the world!  Make a booking or enquire at: doorsofhopecounselling@gmail.com
