2013 Stats
In 2013 Youth Alive Trust has ran 160 club nights for 300 enrolled young people, with their 6 staff and 40 weekly volunteers, including 25 junior leaders. Every school holidays 100 young people enrol in our 3 holiday programmes plus even more attend our 2 weeks of free holiday activities at New Brighton Library. Our youthworkers run a variety of programmes in 4 local schools every week affecting 1300 pupils, they work in the local library everyday and partnered with other groups to organise 8 large community events attended by over 5,000 people! We have taken over 200 young people on 5 camps, 100 Boys on 4 Guys Day Out’s and our 5 trustees oversee the governance of all that goes on. Yet some of our best results are when we sit down with a young person 1-on-1 and inspire them with hope for the future.

Prime Minister visits Youth Alive Trust!!!

We love it when people make the effort to come and hear about our work, ask about our needs, allow us to show them around our place and shoot a few hoops with us – even the PRIME MINISTER!! He even tagged us into a Facebook and Twitter status on his page.

He was joined by deputy PM Bill English, MP Nicky Wagner and National candidate for the east of Christchurch, Matthew Doocey.

Thanks for spending some quality time with us Mr Key! We appreciated your attentive listening ear, your kind words and your sense of humour. You’re welcome back anytime – and look forward to you revisiting us again when all the building work is complete for the official opening!
